We are seeking to appoint three new Trustees to join our Board.

East Sussex Community Voice (ESCV) CIC was established in 2013 to deliver the Healthwatch East Sussex and to develop other projects to help the public have a say in the design, commissioning and delivery of public services in the county.

We are now a staff team of 13 supported by 29 volunteers. In addition to Healthwatch we host the East Sussex Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector Alliance and deliver a number of other health and care projects. We play a key role in enabling people to have their say on the design, commissioning and delivery of public services.

Our vision:

Listened-to communities bringing about positive change.

Our missions:

  • Strengthen the voice of communities and contribute to effective decision-making
  • Generate insight and messaging that support services to be effective and inclusive
  • Be forward-thinking, optimistic change makers
  • We are independent, impartial and accessible to all

We aim to be at the heart of the local community, embracing diversity in East Sussex. We engage broadly and involve local communities, special interest groups, voluntary organisations, support groups, and the wider public in partnership so that their views can lead to genuine improvements in local services.

Skills and Experience

You will be part of a committed and forward-thinking Board, acting as a “critical friend” to the Executive Team and offering clear governance oversight.  You will have the opportunity to help support the planning and implementation of our projects, and to help develop and shape our long-term business plans.

ESCV is particularly interested in candidates who can offer expertise in one of the following areas:

  • Human Resources
  • Business Development and income generation
  • Public services including health and social care (either commissioning or providing)
  • Information technology and communications/marketing

You will add value to our existing Board by bringing dynamism and challenge to the way that we work and support our mission of truly representing the people we serve.

You will bring an inspiring leadership approach, together with a dedicated knowledge in one of the areas sought, to complement the skills of the existing Board.

We encourage candidates who can contribute greater diversity and who will be fully aligned to our vision and values.

Board Members are paid an allowance of £1,200 per annum and all reasonable out of pocket expenses are covered by the company.

To apply, please download the Board Recruitment Pack at https://www.escv.org.uk/work-with-us/ and follow the instructions on our website.
